About Debbie Miller
|
To her mother's delight, and sometimes dismay, Debbie spent her childhood rearranging her family's furniture and accessories...almost on a weekly basis! Her mother and father were her first clients! Her mother, Wanda, was constantly sewing - she regularly made Easter dresses each year for Debbie and her three sisters! So, Debbie learned to design and sew her own clothes in high school and college. Decorating and sewing have been a part of her life that she loves ever since.
After studying marketing in college, and working as a Buyer/Purchasing Agent for 5 years, Debbie decided to do what she had always dreamed of doing - become a Designer. While studying to acquire her ASID at The Tuxedo Learning Center in Atlanta GA, she was totally sidetracked by the classes of Drapery Construction. After completing all of her classwork, even repeating several courses for extra instruction, she was hooked on making beautiful, one-of-a kind items for the home, including custom draperies, bedding, roman shades, pillows and accessories. This is what she truly loves to do. Since 1990, Debbie has worked with the trade and residential clients in custom drapery design and fabrication. Through her work with the trade, Debbie Miller Designs' creations have been featured in numerous prestigious magazines such as Atlanta Homes & Design, Traditional Home and several other national publications. She has also been involved in Atlanta Street of Dreams, Roswell Women's Club Show Homes and charity events including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Show Home, Foster Care Gala, and one of her best friends from college (Go App!), Kim Beverly's - The Woman in Pink, a non profit organization that supplies wigs at no charge to breast cancer patients. Kim is a two-time survivor of breast cancer and tells her story of her fears, struggles, and faith through art. Check out her story at www.thewomaninpink.com. It's just not possible to think of Kim's dedication and faith and not be incredibly inspired! Debbie is excited to have recently relocated from Atlanta to the North Carolina Triad where she now lives in her childhood home - renovated and completely redesigned, of course. Debbie Miller Designs is now open for business, and she looks forward to serving the Greater Surry County/Piedmont Triad area and with custom drapery and fabric needs. To set up an appointment or receive a quote, call Debbie at (336) 468-7824 or email [email protected]. Open to the trade and individual customers. Member Window Coverings Association of America. |
